Digital Forensics
What is Digital Forensics?
Digital Forensics (also known as 'computer forensics') deals
with legal evidence found in computers and technologies dedicated
to digital storage. The ever-increasing sophistication of
information technology is constantly improving our quality of life.
Paradoxically, it also provides opportunities for those who are
looking to harm or take advantage of our way of life. One of the
techniques used by criminals and terrorists alike is to hide
harmful information within the increasingly powerful storage
capacity of IT equipment.
How can VEGA provide Digital Forensics solutions?
VEGA’s approach to digital forensics provides clients with a
comprehensive solution that simplifies data ingestion, analysis and
retention, to help dramatically increase analyst productivity and
secure the digital chain of custody.
Our proven track record for building secure systems for some of
the most sensitive areas of government and the military enables us
to devise and build digital forensics solutions that improve the
capability of forensic laboratories charged with uncovering vital
incriminating evidence.
In addition, VEGA’s independence ensures that any solution we
develop maximises the capability of Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS)
equipment and delivers a bespoke, best practice solution tailored
to the specific forensic need.
An example of such an approach is our work with
DellTM. To support UK Police forensic laboratories,
VEGA and Dell have joined forces to provide a
scalable and secure solution, comprising COTS equipment, that
helps meet the increasingly demanding digital forensics challenge
of each Police force. The two companies exhibited at
the ACPO-APA International Policing
Exhibition and Summer Conference in July 2009 in
Manchester.
