Business Resilience

What is Business Resilience?

Business resilience incorporates a range of measures with the common purpose of protecting the customer organisation against disruption.

VEGA provides a complete portfolio of business resilience services, which are explicitly designed around current best practice and are particularly relevant to customers who wish to follow the leading British Standards:

  • BS25999 for Business Continuity Management
  • BS25777 for IT Service Continuity
  • BS31100 for Operational Risk Management

VEGA’s business resilience service comprises a series of flexible, interlinked modules. These can be delivered separately, in combination, or as a complete end-to-end service package. This approach enables VEGA to provide the correct level of support for each project, and enables our customers to focus VEGA’s expertise and resources in the area of maximum benefit.

Our business resilience service modules are outlined below.

A Cost v Benefit focus

Every organisation must select where to invest time and money across a number of competing priorities. As such, VEGA supports the view that business resilience must demonstrate an acceptable return on investment (ROI) as much as any other project or initiative. To this end, VEGA concentrates on the two questions that are vital to an ROI decision:

  1. What are the costs?
  2. What are the benefits?

  • Costs – VEGA’s expertise in project planning, and our experience in procurement, enables us to forecast and then deliver accurate and complete costs for each stage of the programme
  • Benefits – the benefits of business resilience are not only intangibles such as reputation and staff morale, but also quantifiable cash returns over time (based on cost avoidance and probabilistic outcomes)
