Government Connect and VEGA deliver seminar on enabling
Transformational Government
14 May 2008 – VEGA, the specialist professional services
company, and Government Connect Programme Director, Philip
Littleavon, will be profiling the implementation of the Government
Connect secure network and its role in supporting the
Transformational Government agenda, in a seminar at GC Expo 2008 on
11 June.
GC Expo 2008 is the leading public sector IT event in the UK,
where public servants can view the latest technologies in action,
and discover the solutions to the challenges they face within
government. The conference features speakers from across government
and industry discussing how best to utilise technology to enable
efficient public services and improved customer solutions.
The joint Government Connect and VEGA seminar, entitled
‘Government Connect – how secure systems can enable
Transformational Government’, will explain how the implementation
of a secure extranet is enabling the Government Connect programme
to connect local and central government, and how all tiers of
government are now benefiting from the ability to share sensitive
information online, quickly, easily, accurately and in real
time.
It will be presented by Government Connect Programme Director,
Philip Littleavon, and VEGA’s Simon Fisher, providing delegates
with an understanding of how the programme team met the
technological and security challenges inherent in Government
Connect, and is delivering a transformational programme that
continues to improve service provision for citizens and local
government.
The seminar is part of the conference’s 'Delivering Improved
Customer Services' theme and takes place at 11:05 on Wednesday 11
June.
GC Expo takes place at Earl’s Court in London from 10-11 June
and is free to attend. Register for GC Expo to attend the Government
Connect / VEGA seminar and the rest of the conference.
