VEGA underlines information superiority and cyber security
challenges at DSEi 2011
12 September 2011 – VEGA
Consulting Services Ltd (“VEGA”), a Finmeccanica company, will be
demonstrating its expertise as a supplier of information
superiority and cyber security solutions at Defence & Security
Equipment International (DSEi) 2011.
As a founding member of the
Finmeccanica Cyber Solutions (FCS) team and a trusted advisor to
many UK MOD information-based programmes, VEGA will be attending
this year's event as part of the Finmeccanica presence (stand
S5305).
With DSEi focussed on the wider
international defence and security challenges, VEGA will be
demonstrating solutions that are currently supporting information
superiority in theatres of operation, secure intelligence sharing,
and international cyber security and information assurance
challenges.
As part of Finmeccanica Cyber
Solutions, VEGA will be presenting the capability of
ARCHANGEL™ – a protective monitoring service developed to
defend information against the risk of the most malicious cyber
threats, operating from a UK sovereign-based Security Operation
Centre (SOC).
VEGA will also be highlighting
its expertise in support of military information superiority
through a combination of the company’s Application Characterisation
Services and Application and Network Management capability. Both
are already playing a significant role in actively enabling
coalition forces to understand their information networks and
perform more efficiently in the theatres of operation.
In addition to exhibiting at
DSEi, VEGA General Manager, Paul MacGregor, will be participating
in the conference programme on a panel discussion entitled “Is the
Cyber War Winnable?”. The 45-minute session is scheduled to start
at midday on 14 September in Theatre 2.
VEGA General Manager, Paul
MacGregor, said: “The 21st century's reliance on information
systems, means the management and defence of shared information is
of vital importance. In addition, secure Information Superiority is
now core to the success of any military programme or commercial
enterprise. DSEi provides us with an opportunity to share with
customers innovative ways to achieve advantage quickly and cost
effectively using our proven technologies and delivery
methods.”
DSEi is one of the world’s largest defence
and security exhibitions and conferences, and takes place at Excel
in London from 13-16 September.
