VEGA helps UK MOD assess Nimrod MRA4’s military capability
12 September 2007 – VEGA Group PLC (VEGA), the specialist
Professional Services Company, has joined forces with QinetiQ,
Europe's largest independent science and technology company, to
provide the Nimrod MRA4 Integrated Project Team (IPT) with a fully
MOD Architecture Framework (MODAF)-compliant solution that will
ensure the Nimrod MRA4 Acceptance Case is effectively
demonstrated.
The Nimrod MRA4 is a surveillance aircraft equipped to operate
in a Network Enabled Capability environment as a component of an
overall ISTAR force.
The IPT must demonstrate that the aircraft will deliver the
required through-life Military Capability as detailed in the User
Requirement Document. The combination of QinetiQ’s unrivalled
knowledge of Nimrod MRA4 acceptance issues and VEGA’s proven
architecture modelling approach and ISSE toolset, provides the IPT
with an informed and effective team that will enable it to deliver
a realistic, reliable tool that will demonstrate the acceptance
case in a clear way.
VEGA’s proven approach to architecture modelling and its ISSE
toolset is already widely adopted across future Defence and
Equipment Support and Equipment Capability Customer domains.
The ability to articulate the Nimrod MRA4 Military Capability
places the programme at the forefront of the evolving UK MOD
Through Life Capability Management ethos.
The solution offered by QinetiQ and VEGA provides the Nimrod
MRA4 IPT with a sustainable decision support tool for use
throughout the life of the Nimrod MRA4 capability, and enables the
programme to accept data from all relevant evidence sources
including other Defence Lines of Development, in order to
comprehensively manage performance.
