Critical National Infrastructure (CNI)
In today's world, Governments place a high value on ensuring
that countries are well protected against attacks by terrorists or
other national security threats. Critical National Infrastructures
(CNI) provide the underlying framework of facilities, systems,
sites and networks necessary for the functioning of a country and
the delivery of the essential services which we rely on in every
aspect of our daily life.
The UK National Security Strategy acknowledges the need to "make
our institutions and infrastructure as reilient as we possibly
can", adding the stark warning that "without the security of our
land and infrastructure, and the ability of our citizens to live
their lives freely, the foundation of our prosperity, trade,
industry, enterprise, and education would be undermined."
However, the fragmented nature of the UK's CNI – with
ownership split between the public and private sectors – means
there are significant challenges to delivering a consolidated and
automated security response, should any part of the CNI landscape
be targeted. Recent initiatives, such as the setting up of
Infrastructure UK, highlight the Government’s focus on a joined up
thinking and approach to this complex area.
VEGA’s comprehensive approach to understanding the enterprise
and information exploitation is supporting clients
across the CNI environment. Our agile approach to Information Defence and Exploitation is
benefiting clients and agencies tasked with maintaining CNI such as
health, utilities and power generation, most of which are required
to operate under a very strict safety-critical regulatory regime.
To help meet these challenges, VEGA offers world class capabilities
in:
We understand the demands and risks involved
in operating under strict and critical regulatory environments, and
