Defence Industrial Strategy (DIS)
Unveiled by the UK MOD in December 2005, the
Defence Industry Strategy (DIS) outlined the top line military
capability requirements of the UK for the coming decades. It went
on to propose how it would transform its acquisition process,
policies, and infrastructures to ensure that together with the UK
industrial base, it would be agile and responsive enough to allow
UK front line forces to receive the through-life capability effects
they demanded, as required, and for best value-for-money.
