CHECK Team Member [J 2043]
Exciting opportunity for a CHECK Team Member to join a Green
Light status CHECK Team, and develop their skills.
The role requires individuals to:
- Have an understanding of all aspects of penetration testing,
and a proven aptitude towards either network assessments or an
understanding of web based applications
- Have used of a variety of network security testing tools and
exploits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend corrective
action, as well as experience of manual penetration testing and an
understanding of IP Networking in a security context
- Be experienced with security testing of Web based
applications.
- CHECK or Crest are a benefit but not essential as full training
will be given to enable the successful applicant to achieve these
qualifications
Responsibilities / Duties
- Undertaking IT Health Checks / Vulnerability Assessments,
individually or as part of a team
- Producing Case Studies for each test
- Assisting in maintaining the CHECK Laboratory
- Supporting Service Development and the Sales process through
pre-sales support, Bid input and Proposal writing
- Supporting Group IS and contributing to VEGA White Papers and
research documents
- Work towards achieving either CHECK or CREST
certifications
Qualifications / Experience
- Proven IT background (Systems Support, Software
Development)
- Experience of penetration testing in a commercial
environment
Essential Skills
- Work with the Sales teams to provide bid input and work
estimates to address customer requirements, adhering to company
processes
- Maintain regular contact with the office and provide Management
Information as required
- Plan and execute a test schedule
- Manage customer expectations and provide daily updates of the
testing activity.
- Undertake technical tests following the agreed scope, utilising
a standard build tool set of Network or Web App Security test
tools
- Identify vulnerabilities and recommend corrective action
- Write a comprehensive and professional report of the testing
activity outcome
- Present the report content to customers in a professional
manner
- Undertake any reasonable requests to ad-hoc tasking requests in
line with the skill set
Desirable Skills
- Demonstrate an appreciation of the broader Information Security
issues
- Possess knowledge and experience of the full range of Microsoft
Office applications
- Hold a current driving license
